Tuesday 17 October 2023
Meeting 3 Days Before the National Rose Society of Australia Championship and Convention, held in conjunction with our Spring Show and the WA Floral Art Society Championships

HELD AT:

South Perth Community Centre Hall

Cnr of Sandgate Street & South Terrace

South Perth

ENTRY FEE:  $3.00 entry per person, includes a raffle ticket.

The hall opens at 6.30pm and we need some able bodied

helpers to assist with setting up tables and chairs in the hall.

Members can place their roses on the benches during this time for the monthly competition. As we have been working hard towards having a plethora of blooms for the National Rose Society of Australia Competition and Convention, there should be plenty of blooms - those that have peeped out a little earlier than expected.  The Show will beheld at the South Perth Community Centre Hall from 21st - 22nd October. DON'T FORGET TO PUT THIS DATE IN YOUR DIARY AND INVITE YOUR FRIENDS.

NOTE:  The RSWA green vases will be available to use for another section on the benches for those members who would like to bring their roses from home for display only - no competition.  Or if you have a rose that you would like to know the name of, bring it along and hopefully one of our very experienced members will be able to identify it for you.

MEETING STARTS:  7:30pm to approx 8.30pm

AGENDA:

General Meeting.  We will be going through the final arrangements for the Nationals to ensure that all aspects run smoothly.  We have many events planned for our members and visitors, so there will be lots to talk about and finalise.  We would love it if many of our members could all chip in and help  share the load.  We will need volunteers to help set up the hall, make jams, biscuits, cakes or slices for sale either at the stall or in the kitchen, help in the kitchen and on the front desk and stalls.  We will also need more volunteers (many hands make light work) to help with the clean up on Sunday afternoon at 4.00pm so that we can all make it to the Farewell Dinner (Platters in the Park) in Kings Park by 6.30pm.  Let's all keep our fingers crossed for some awesome weather for our weekend event.

GARDEN HELP:  Bring your gardening questions, or problems from your garden in a zip-lock bag and we will try to help identify and give you a solution.

SUPPER & FELLOWSHIP:  From approx 8.30pm to 9.30pm

Please bring a plate to share after the meeting.  Free Tea and Coffee provided by our wonderful kitchen volunteers.
